Experienced teacher of GCSE Maths, A Level Physics, A Level Chemistry (physical and inorganic), A Level ICT and English as a Foreign Language to all levels. Used to tutoring and getting students the results they want. I also am very patient and can work with all ranges in ability. For all the subjects I have mentioned my preferred age group is 13 to 16 year olds.
I have also worked successfully with students with special needs e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, Aspergers and Dyspraxia.

I like walking my dog, going out with friends and exploring different parts of the world and cultures.
I have 2 sons and live in the Swansea area.
I retired from teaching at Swansea University in February 2024 after nine and a half years teaching there.
Since 2014, I was teaching Foundation Degree courses in Physics, Chemistry and Materials Science at Swansea University.
Between 2017 and 2019, I was also teaching online as an English as a Foreign Language teacher to Chinese students from the age of 4 upwards and up to and including adults.
Between 2010 and 2013, I was teaching middle school Austrian students any subject (except German) through the medium of English. I also worked as an English Trainer at Berlitz which is the oldest and possible on of the most renowned Language schools in the world. I only stopped working there as I wanted to return to live in the UK.
Between 2000 and 2010, I taught A Level ICT, IT Key Skills and Application of Number Key Skills at Worcester Sixth Form College.
Between 1994 and 2000, I taught GCSE Maths and GCSE ICT and was also Senior Teacher at Bowbrook School in Hartlebury.
In Maths, for example, my approach to tutoring students is first of all to assess where their knowledge gaps are, then teach them topic by topic, occasionally taking mini tests, weekly homeworks, and then providing them with plenty of exam practice and building up their exam technique so that they become confident mathematicians.
I am very patient and will also ask students plenty of questions and also give them plenty of opportunities to ask me questions. I encourage a learning environment so that they can feel confident to ask me questions and build up their confidence and thus their motivation to succeed.
Maths (especially up to GCSE Higher Tier although I can tutor in the lower end of AS Level Maths too), A Level Chemistry (especially Physical Chemistry which I teach at University), A Level Physics (especially in topics such as electric circuits, linear and circular motion), A Level ICT, English as a Foreign Language (especially speaking and grammar) to any level. In GCSE Maths I can cover any of the topics and exam boards. In Chemistry I can cover Physical Chemistry for AQA. English as a Foreign Language, my preference is for speaking and grammar.
it was really good
A useful Maths GCSE lesson thank you Michael!
I have taught 1000s of students over the course of 30+ years and have achieved excellent results with students of all abilities including those with special needs e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, dyspraxia, aspergers
