Dr Lee is a researcher, lecturer and highly experienced tutor specialising in Health Psychology. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Health Psychology and a PhD in Medicine from The University of Manchester, one of the top UK institutions. She is an accredited teacher with the Higher Education Academy. She is a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society. Dr Lee is an active researcher and lecturer in the fields of pain (amongst other long-term health conditions), paediatrics, behaviour change and communication, to name just some. Dr Lee conducts lots of mixed methods clinical research and has published a range of studies (including qualitative studies, systematic literature reviews) in scientific journals. Dr Lee is the winner of multiple awards for the quality of her research and teaching including prestigious research grants, conference prizes and travel awards. She regularly reviews highly positive reviews from students.
Since September 2018, I have worked as Research Fellow/Lecturer investigating a range of long-term health conditions (pain, arthritis) in children and young people at The University of Manchester. I lecture and co-ordinate seminars and tutorials across a range of topic areas in Psychology and Medicine (Mind and Body modules, Healthcare Communication modules, Qualitative research methods, Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Cognitive psychology, Biological psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and many more). I also supervise and grade a range of BSc, MSc and PhD level student dissertations/theses in Psychology. I am an academic advisor and mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate students to support with pastoral issues alongside academic related concerns.
I have worked as a private tutor for over 2 years and I have supervised over 40 students during this time, including psychology students (Health, Clinical, Social, Organisational), medical students and a range of allied health professionals (nurses, occupational therapists). This work has involved supporting a range of students with their academic writing, essay structure, qualitative research methods (NVivo), quantitative research methods (SPSS), lab reports, organisational skills and providing guidance on the entire research project/dissertation process.
