I love reading and writing creatively, and when I've not got my head stuck in a book I'm usually outside enjoying nature.
I have a TES qualification in Subject Knowledge Enhancement and am familiar with the English National Curriculum. I have several years experience working as an English tutor teaching Key stages 3-5, and I spent a year working in schools teaching English during my teacher training. During my training, I taught at one of the best grammar schools in the North, and was given top sets teaching GCSE content . I've also taught English as a foreign/second language, and have extensive experience working with students with learning difficulties, working as a GCSE tutor and as a classroom teacher in alternative provision.
This range of experience has built up my skillset to ensure that I can support all students, from those who are struggling to those who are oxbridge potentials. My approach is simple - I focus on building confidence and ensuring that the student feels good about their progress and their work, which then enables progress in real time. Learning is a process, and it takes time and patience.
