My name is Liz and I am a languages teacher from Manchester. I graduated in 2009 with a first-class honours degree in French and Spanish from the University of Bristol. Since then I have taught Spanish, French and English to young people in Spain and the UK in a variety of schools and academies. I completed my PGCE in July 2020 at the University of Manchester, where I completed my trainee teacher practice at Manchester High School for Girls and Buile Hill School, Salford. I'm experienced in tutoring and teaching French and Spanish up to A Level and beyond. I teach online using Google Meet, Zoom and Lessonspace on Spires. I live in Huelva, Andalucía in Spain with my partner, baby boy and cat :)
Experienced online teacher and tutor of French and Spanish, with more than five years' of teaching experience, both online and in-person. First-class honours in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Bristol and PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the University of Manchester. Prior to teaching worked in the House of Commons and HM Treasury through the prestigious Graduate Fast Stream programme for UK civil servants.
Exam preparation for all exam boards and levels: GCSE, A-Level, IB, and general language classes from beginner to advanced level for adults. As a Brit who has mastered two European languages to near-native level, I understand the unique challenges faced by native English speakers when it comes to learning languages. I will keep you motivated and get you results! I am very friendly, approachable and patient. Maximising student confidence and enjoyment is as important to me as improving grades (though normally these things all go hand in hand).
Currently live in Huelva, Spain with my partner, baby boy and cat!

Elizabeth teaches very engaging lessons.
Excellent as always!
Elizabeth has been like an angel sent to us for our son. He really really struggled and Liz was not only able to tutor him but she also built his confidence up to the point that he stopped having anxiety before the French Exam. She was sooo generous with her time. We will never forget what she did. I wish so many of my sons teachers were like her. She is one in a million!
Elizabeth is great. I’m not a natural linguist but already, after a few lessons I feel more confident and am making progress. Better still it’s enjoyable!
Excellent class, Elizabeth is very thorough, patient and encouraging.

Liz is amazing!
"Liz is an outstanding French tutor! She makes learning French fun and accessible, tailoring lessons to fit your needs. Her patience, encouragement, and deep understanding of the language have really boosted my confidence. Each session is engaging, with a great mix of conversation and grammar. If you want to improve your French, Liz is the perfect tutor!"
Katie, AQA GCSE French, summer 2024
‘Having been my French Tutor for over two years, Elizabeth Bolton has always been very encouraging and supportive. Not being a natural Linguist, I have on occasions struggled to maintain momentum and direction. Despite this, Liz has always been empathetic yet always positive with ways to move forward. My confidence and ability has increased over this time and I’m empowered to continue. I would highly recommend Liz as a teacher and wish her success in the future’.
Des Haley, adult French student, Farnham, UK
"Liz is an excellent tutor; professional, kind and easy to work with. She’s also an outstanding hispanist, difficult to differentiate from a native. She was a great cheerleader whilst I was working towards my goals and I’d warmly recommend her to anyone looking to achieve theirs."
