I completed my DPhil in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, where my research focused on guilt, shame and how people repair relationships after wrongdoing, and I also hold an MSc in Cognitive Science. Having been through the research process myself, I can explain not only what the theories are, but how the evidence behind them is gathered and evaluated, which is exactly what strong essays and dissertations require.
I currently teach A-Level Psychology to Year 12 and Year 13 students at an independent college in London, so I know the current specifications and what examiners are looking for.
I enjoy working with students at every level. Whether you are aiming for an A* and a place at Oxbridge, or you want to move up from a C to a B or secure a solid pass, I will build the lessons around your goals and pace. Not every student needs to chase the top grade, and I am happy to work with those aiming for lower grades, with the same care and structure.
My lessons are structured but friendly. I begin by finding out where a student is, set clear targets, and give feedback after every session so progress is visible to both student and parent. Throughout the years I have helped my students reach their target grades by providing them with the necessary knowledge, structure, and support.
If you would like to talk through your goals, send me a message and we can arrange an introductory conversation.
I teach psychology at an independent college in London and tutor privately at A-Level, IB, undergraduate and postgraduate level, across the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and CIE specifications as well as university psychology modules.
I have tutored many students who went on to achieve A* grades and secure places at Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities. I also tutored social psychology and cognitive psychology at the University of Oxford. That means I can teach the content at a level well beyond the A-Level syllabus and show students how the subject develops at university.
My approach is built around what examiners reward. In school-level lessons we work through the mark scheme, learn how to structure 8, 12 and 16-mark answers, and practise with past papers so students know exactly what a top-band response looks like. Research methods and statistics, where many students lose marks, get dedicated attention, with clear explanations and plenty of practice.
For university students, I help with understanding difficult material and with every stage of a project or dissertation: research design, analysis, and writing up.
A-Level/IAL, IB, AP, CAIE/CIE, Pre-U and EPQ/IPQ: Psychology content, essay technique, research methods and statistics, and exam preparation. GCSE/IGCSE is also available.
University applications: Oxbridge preparation and UCAS personal statements for psychology and related courses, including US applicants.
Undergraduate and postgraduate: course support in psychology, dissertation and thesis design, statistical analysis, and academic writing.
