About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Manchester, Director of Centre for Innovation in Pedagogy, Associate Member of the Economics Network, Author of Introduction to Macroeconomics 5th Edition, with Pearson Education and Subject Matter Expert for McGraw Hill, London. I have taught the subject of macroeconomics at the University of Manchester since 2009 across all years at the undergraduate level and before that at the University of Surrey, where I have taught both macroeconomics and econometrics at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I have received my BA in Economics at Kingston University and MSc in Economics at Birkbeck College, University of London before going on to the University of Surrey to complete my PhD, also in Economics. My research interests include macroeconomic time series, economic volatility, monetary policy and economic growth. My research in pedagogy involves the measurement of new practices for fostering student engagement and the design of educational frameworks for higher education more generally.

I am holding an Economics Network 'Outstanding Teaching Award' from 2013 and a University of Manchester Distinguished Achievement Medal 'Teacher of the Year' from 2014.
