I love finding out about different cultures and what makes people tick. I also love literature and even as a very young child would often have my nose in a book! My A levels were completed through the Access system which covered English Literature, History, Philosophy, Sociology, IT, Politics and Art History. I have spent almost my entire working life in education. My hobbies are yoga, tai chi, reading, writing, theatre, cinema and politics. When I am not tutoring I do freelance writing for magazines and proofreading professional documents. I also have an adorable Springer Spaniel who keeps me busy! I have two grown children both of whom have gone on to become an actuary and a teacher so I must have done something right!
I am an excellent tutor because I have professional teaching qualifications not just a degree and have also taught trainee teachers how to teach at Roehampton University in London and a professional tutor in school with OFSTED training (Langley Grammar Slough) so have an excellent understanding of the different ways to access pupil learning.
I have been tutoring since 2004 part time and then from 2011 became a full time tutor and I am also an examiner for different exam boards on English, Religious Studies, Politics, History and Sociology.
I would love to work with you and share my love of these subjects. I realise the importance of accurate formative assessment of pupils and subsequent appropriate planning and teaching to their preferred learning style.
My daughter enjoyed the lesson . Also she found it relevant and useful. The Tutor was very clear and explained very well.
