About Me
My name is Effy Mertzani and I have been an IB Psychology teacher and examiner for approximately 5 years. I teach at in an International School in Athens, but my educational background is the UK. I am an examiner for Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Extended Essays.
Tutor Experience
I first started my career as an IB Psychology Tutor at CLC Educational Institute, Athens in August 2021. In that establishment, I mainly taught in classes one-to-one or a maximum number of 4 students per class. At times such as COVID outbursts or bad weather conditions, the lessons were conducted online, hence indicating my experience with online tutoring. I later joined the International School of Athens (ISA) in August 2022 as an IB Psychology teacher as well as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher. After a year of teaching, I became an examiner for Psychology, specifically marking paper 1, paper 3 and Extended Essays.
Topic Expertise
Due to my MSc in Clinical Neuroscience, I am particularly affluent in the Biological Approach to Psychology. In addition, my experience as a researcher at UCL has given me great insight into Extended Essays (EE). In addition, I have experience working with students with special educational needs, tailoring my lessons to match each student's goals and needs.
