I am a legal academic and practitioner specialising in Public International Law, Public Law, and the English Legal System. I hold a Distinction LLM in International Law from UCL, where I studied under renowned international lawyers and developed research that has since been accepted for presentation at the BIICL–SLS Workshop.
My professional experience includes providing legal advice to governments on complex matters of public international law, including contributing to a State’s written and oral submissions in an Advisory Opinion before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). This exposure to high-level international litigation informs my teaching and allows me to offer students insights grounded in real practice as well as academic theory.
I am committed to helping students build confidence, structure, and analytical precision in their legal studies. My approach is calm, supportive, and highly organised, ensuring that students not only understand the material but also learn how to articulate it effectively in exams, essays, and problem questions.
I have taught at four UK universities, including the University of Sussex, the University of Chichester, and Regent College London, where I also delivered modules accredited through collaborative programmes with St Mary’s University, Twickenham and the University of Greater Manchester. This wide-ranging experience means I understand exactly what different universities expect from students — and how to help you meet (and exceed) those expectations.
Across LLM and LLB programmes, I have taught or led modules in:
Public International Law
International Human Rights
Public Law
English Legal System
EU Law
Criminal Law
Mooting, Advocacy & Legal Skills
Law and Society / Jurisprudence
In these roles, I have:
Designed and delivered clear, engaging lectures and seminars
Helped students significantly improve exam technique and essay writing
Marked coursework and exams, giving me insider insight into what earns top marks
Provided structured feedback that helps students rapidly strengthen their legal analysis
Supported students at all levels, from first-year undergraduates to LLM candidates
Integrated real legal practice — including work on an ICJ Advisory Opinion — into my teaching to make challenging concepts intuitive and accessible
My tutoring is results-driven, highly organised, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you need help breaking down complex topics, improving your writing, or preparing for assessments, I use my academic experience and practical expertise to help you achieve your best.
I specialise in the following areas:
English Legal Systems
Public Law (Constitutional, Administrative and Human Rights Law)
Public International Law
An excellent Public Law teacher who makes complex constitutional principles easy to understand. Highly recommended.
I went from a 2:2 in Public Law to a 1st thanks to Mena's help. He really helped me understand judicial review.
I was really anxious about starting law school. Mena gave me a crash course in English Legal Systems. His teaching was excellent, making me fully prepared for the expectations of law school. I was then able to use the principles which Mena taught me to help me with my other legal subjects.
A real pleasure to be taught Public International Law by Mena. The depth of his subject knowledge is unrivalled. I was impressed by his encyclopaedic knowledge of cases.
I'm currently studying for an LLM in Public Law, having studied the subject during my LLB. Mena's teaching style had a huge impact on this decision. He really gave me a passion for the subject.
