About Me

I'm a Politics Tutor living in London. I have been tutoring the Edexcel and AQA politics A-Level courses since I graduated in 2012. In that time, I've helped countless students with their exams, university applications and interview prep.

During the pandemic, I acted as a 'school replacement' and was the sole teacher for a handful of students taking the A-Level course. This massively increased my comfort teaching online, and I am proud to say that all my students achieved an A or A* grade.

I've continued to expand what I teach, covering critical thinking and essay skills. I have helped undergraduate students adapt to the shift in university-level studies and helped students with applications of all kinds, as well as showcase and competition essays. Most recently, in 2023, I mentored and guided a student through his application for the RA Butler Essay Prize at Trinity College, which he went on to win.

I've worked with multiple undergraduate students through their degrees, with my work ranging from full-on teaching to academic mentoring, helping students research and revise effectively, structure their essays, and polish their academic writing.

I'm passionate about helping young people connect with politics and articulate their ideas. As a writer, I also love literature and creative writing, which I think helps my studies.

I believe that successful tutoring requires more than just communicating the facts of the syllabus but sharing a passion for the subject. My own enthusiasm for the subject has been an invaluable asset to my teaching.

Tutor Experience

From 2014 to 2019 I worked part time through agencies incluing Tutor 360 and Blue Tutors. These were weekly sessions with students who required additional help with homework and the curriculum.
In 2019 I moved to work with the agencies Hypster and Academia, online schools for international students. During the pandemic I started acting as 'school replacement', as the students only Politics teacher, and was gratified to see all of my students attain A or A* level.
I specialise in Politics A-Level, across a range of exam boards, and undergraduate essay support. Additionally I offer my students regular progress reports, and help with university applications, particularly personal statements.
On top of this I have helped multiple undergraduates during their degree, including one student who worked with me as her academic mentor throughout her entire degree at Kings (for which she recieved a first) and through her masters at SOAS.

Topic Expertise

I specialise in A-Level politics but I am also comfortable teaching History, Psychology and Sociology and GCSE or A-Level .

In addition to helping with the course material, I specialise in essay technique, exam preparation and University applications and interviews.
