About Me

Hi there! I have a BA (First Class) in Human, Social, and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and an MA (Distinction) in Philosophy & Contemporary Critical Theory, for which I also won the Outstanding Achievement award for the highest grade on the programme. While I have tutored applicants for a range of social science subjects, my research specialisms lie in political philosophy and social theory, writing my Masters dissertation on the concept of freedom in G.W.F Hegel and Jacques Ranciere. I will begin my Philosophy PhD in October 2024 on the concept of 'instituent power' in Roberto Esposito and Cornelius Castoriadis, and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm with new students! Outside of academic study and tutoring, I am passionate about film and photography, and write regularly for various magazines and journals.

Please see a more detailed breakdown of my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees below for a sense of my topics of interest and tutoring areas, from 19th century political thought, to the economics of global capitalism, and the sociology of media.

Tutor Experience

I have three years experience tutoring a range of subject areas and client profiles - from A-Level students, to Oxbridge and postgraduate applicants - having totalled over 90 hours of one-to-one support across around 35 different students. For the past year, I haved worked as Head of Tutor Manager and Events Coordinator at a London-based Oxbridge tutoring company, responsible for hiring, training, and assigning new tutors, as well as coordinating the delivery of over 100 events throughout the year.

For a more detailed breakdown of my tutoring experience, please see the following:

- Social Science Study Skills Workshops (2022, 2023): Led classes of 10-25 Oxbridge applicants on the skills necessary to excel at interviews and further onto undergraduate study
- Subject Tutorials (2022, 2023): Led smaller, Oxbridge-style tutorial groups of 3-5 students for applications to HSPS and PPE
