I am a UK qualified Mathematics teacher with QTS and a PGCE, plus a Master's level degree that is UK ENIC verified. For the last seven years I have taught maths full time in British international schools across Asia, and I have tutored privately for fifteen years.
I am also an active examiner for a major UK awarding body, marking A Level Mathematics scripts. That changes how I teach. Once you have marked real scripts you stop guessing what examiners want and start showing students how marks are actually awarded, where method marks are thrown away, and which two words separate full marks from half.
I teach across every major board: Cambridge International, Edexcel, AQA, OCR and the IB. Students arrive with very different syllabuses, so I teach to their exact specification and paper structure rather than delivering generic maths. My core specialism is Pure Mathematics and Statistics.
My approach builds understanding first. Students learn why a method works, not just how to run it. That is what carries them through the unfamiliar question at the end of the paper, where the A and the A* are usually decided. Alongside that I work on exam technique: timing, layout, checking, and handling unfamiliar questions.
I work with students who find maths difficult and need confidence rebuilt, and with strong students pushing for an A*, Further Maths, or a competitive university place.
My setup is professional: iPad with Apple Pencil and GoodNotes as a live whiteboard, a second screen for past papers, and high quality audio. Sessions are recorded so students can revisit the working.
I teach Monday to Friday evenings for students in Asia and the Middle East, with extra slots during exam series.
