About Me

I have always been drawn to the moment a student stops trying to memorise and starts to understand. That shift is what makes teaching worth it for me. I am patient, I explain things clearly, and I focus on building confidence alongside the actual subject. Every student is different, so I adapt my approach to fit the person in front of me rather than following a fixed template.

Tutor Experience

I combine 17+ years of university teaching with a structured, strategy-driven approach to help students solve problems efficiently and understand concepts rather than memorising them. I tutor online using digital whiteboards and interactive tools, delivering clear and focused sessions.

University Experience: Former Assistant Professor teaching core engineering modules including Telecommunications, Signals and Systems, Digital Logic Design, and Engineering Mathematics to classes of 50+ students. PhD supervisor; guided graduate students through research projects and thesis writing.

Undergraduate EE Tutoring: I tutor Signals and Systems, Telecommunications, Digital Logic Design, and Engineering Mathematics for undergraduate students. These are the same modules I taught at university, so I know the exam formats, common difficulties, and exactly what examiners expect.

Digital SAT Math: I tutor the Digital SAT Math section only. Students learn Desmos calculator techniques to solve the majority of Module 1 questions quickly, and Module 2 adaptive tactics to handle the harder second module with confidence. I also cover targeted weak-area repair, timing, and efficient exam-style practice.

GRE Quantitative Reasoning: I tutor the GRE Quantitative Reasoning section only, covering arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis through problem-solving strategies and timed practice.

Topic Expertise

Telecommunications Engineering, Digital Communication Systems, Signals and Systems, Engineering Mathematics, Digital Logic Design, Digital SAT Math, GRE Quantitative Reasoning.

Testimonials

--- SAT MATH SUCCESS ---

Kate (Parent of SAT Student)
"Ali has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter. In a very short timeframe he helped her significantly improve her Maths Digital SAT score by quickly identifying and working through her weak areas, teaching her how to use Desmos effectively and helping her maximise her time in the test. I would highly recommend him."

Irina (Parent of SAT Student)
"Good explanatory methods. Very kind and supportive teacher. Helps you understand how to use Desmos efficiently."

--- ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING SUCCESS ---

Berke (Signals & Systems)
"Dr. Ali is highly competent in his field and an instructor who truly loves his job. I took the Signals and Systems course with him and together we passed with an 'AA' [Top Grade]. Throughout the whole process, he supported me in every area and his willingness to teach was obvious. Anyone considering tutoring can choose Dr. Ali with complete peace of mind."

Ceren (Signals & Systems)
"Dr. Ali was incredibly helpful in passing my Signals and Systems course. He teaches in a very clear and efficient way. Beyond explaining the concepts perfectly, his focus on in-class problem-solving and discussions made learning so much easier. I could always get support on topics I didn't understand."

Yigit (Engineering / General)
"Our professor is so helpful. His teaching method is based on making the student truly grasp the topic and reinforcing it with examples. He is a very experienced educator. From now on, he is the first person I will reach out to whenever I struggle with my department courses. Thank you."

Ayshen (Engineering / General)
"A wonderful teacher! Thanks to him I finally understood electricity so well. Solving and discussing questions during the lesson, and being able to reach him whenever I needed help to discuss parts I didn't understand was truly amazing. I will definitely continue taking lessons next semester!"
