I am a current PhD Chemistry Student at the University of Cambridge and I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King's College London.
I am a relaxed and friendly tutor whose main priority is not just to get you the grade you want in your chosen subject, but to make you enjoy the lessons, and eventually, all things science-related!

I am currently on the path to completing my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge. My research focuses on understanding the physical processes occurring at the interface of chemistry and biology in the scope of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease.
In my free time, I volunteer at the Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as a Dementia Champion. I hope to use this experience to eventually pursue a career in Medicine.
I want to ensure an environment in my lessons that allows tutees to feel confident and comfortable and allows them to ask as many questions as they need. I believe there really is no better way to learn, and there is truly no such thing as a silly question!
Oh, and I enjoy a variety of sports, especially rugby (although injury has, unsurprisingly, prevented me from playing!).
I have experience teaching new students entering our lab. This includes designing their projects and mentoring them through their time at the lab, to make sure the students leave feeling fulfilled and happy with their progress. This experience taught me that nothing gives more joy than being able to share my knowledge and allow others to reach their true potential!
As a student for the last 8 years, I have experienced all the different possible teaching styles, methods and teachers. I understand how difficult it is when your teacher uses a method that doesn’t work for you. I, therefore, want to work together with you to find and teach in a style that best suits you and will help you improve. After all, the goal of our lessons is to help you improve and I want to achieve this in a way that best suits you.
I have been a chemistry student for the last 5 years and have covered a vast array of modules, from chemistry in cells (achieving 96% in the module) to molecular biology and even protein structures and design. My undergraduate degree from King's College London has also developed laboratory practice, including writing first-class laboratory reports. The nature of my PhD has allowed me to develop a broad knowledge of the natural sciences, physics, research methods, and even academic writing. I published my first, first-author paper during my undergraduate degree.
I completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and I am comfortable tutoring all three subjects, especially as I use them on a day-to-day basis in my research.
My daughter had a lesson about GCSE Chemistry and she says Owen was patient and explained things clearly.

I am currently studying for my PhD in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, where I am a member of St John's College. I am the receiver of the Professor Sir Chris Dobson Full-Scholarship.
I completed my MPhil in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge (member of Clare Hall College) in 2023. My thesis looked at investigating the Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation of the Amyloid Beta Peptide. My final dissertation was approved without corrections.
I completed my BSc in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King's College London in 2021. I achieved a First Class Honours!
