I have always been very clear that I wanted to study Mechanical Engineering. However, my approach has clearly changed over time. At first my interest in Engineering was mainly practical, but over time and the different experiences I have had, I realized that the area in which I can develop my full potential is in teaching technical subjects in Science and Engineering.
I still remember when I was a Mechanical Engineering student in college. At that time it was normal for many of my classmates to ask me to solve problems they had in assimilating all the content given in class. Of course, I couldn't always understand everything and therefore help them. But in the moments that I could, I realized that my classmates tended to be quite satisfied with my explanations. It seems that destiny was giving me clues to that I chose to dedicate my life to teaching, but I couldn't recognize them at that time. It took me several years to realize that my place was, indeed, in teaching. It was during my last year as a master's student when I decided to embark on this adventure, until today.
And that's how I got here, dreaming of taking the next step in my passion: learning and teaching.
During the last approximately 3 years I have given private online lessons to dozens of students around the world (Spain, USA, United Kingdom,...), accumulating more than 1500 hours!
Additionally, I have experience tutoring at different levels, especially A-level and undergraduate Mathematics, including Linear Algebra and Calculus, for students with different backgrounds, from Economics to Engineering. My other specialism is Physics Mechanics (also A-level and undergraduate).
All that experience in tutoring has helped me realize what for me is, without a doubt, one of the biggest failures of the traditional educational format in my areas of specialization (Mathematics and Physics Mechanics): the explanation of new concepts through memorization , without relating what the student already knows with the new ideas so that they can be better assimilated.
That's why I always emphasize the importance of enabling students to acquire new knowledge by visualizing and using words and terms they are familiar with. It doesn't matter if the language used for teaching is not very technical at first. The first goal is to understand the fundamental concepts in the most efficient way possible. When this step is well established we will be able to include more technical terminology to the sessions.
Since I started tutoring, my focus has always been on Mathematics (Linear Algebra, Calculus I and Calculus II for now) and Mechanical Physics (A level and undergraduate), and I feel strongly committed to continually learning and expanding my offering in these areas. step by step, especially at the undergraduate level for the moment.
Great knowledge in the mentioned areas is the key to mastering any future Science and Engineering subject. My mission is to provide my students with maximum knowledge of these topics, so that they have the best possible tools to face their next subjects. That is why my focus is on the areas mentioned above.
In addition to the above, I can also give lessons to beginners in MATLAB, C++ and Python at a basic level, although my areas of specialization are, as indicated before, Mathematics and Mechanical Physics.
"Really passionate about the subjects he teaches. His dream is to master everything related to his fields of interest and be able to offer his help to the world" -Marcos
"He will always try to give you a totally new perspective on what you are learning, making it much easier to assimilate each idea presented in class" -Vladimir
"I was very lucky to get to know him. He is simply incredible at tutoring. He was my lifesaver during my time as a student" -Mohamed
