With over ten years experience in British curriculum schools, I am well equipped to support students with all primary subjects. I understand how important it is to teach students a large range of skills so they can access all areas of the curriculum and feel confident when doing so. I am aware of the foundational knowledge students need to finish their primary education ready to progress through secondary education and beyond.

I work best with students between the age of five to eleven who need a boost in confidence, a wider range of strategies or more practice applying their skills independently. My lessons are child-centered, skill based and structured through the gradual release teaching model. First, I model thinking explicitly before guiding the student to develop their own thinking process, which they will then apply independently. I teach children metacognition to ensure they build an understanding of their own thinking processes. These approaches develop higher performance learners who understand their own capabilities.
