I’ve always been driven by a deep curiosity about how we think, learn, and communicate. That curiosity led me through undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in psychology and linguistics, and into a career that combines teaching, research, and mentoring. I’ve taught and conducted research internationally, working with students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, and I’ve received multiple awards for both academic achievement and teaching excellence.
My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and I’ve presented my work at international conferences. While I’m proud of those accomplishments, what I value most is helping students find clarity and confidence in their work—especially when tackling complex material or high-stakes writing. I bring that same focus and care to every tutoring session.
Outside of teaching, I’m fascinated by how language shapes our minds and relationships. I enjoy reading, writing, and learning new languages—I’ve even taught Mandarin at university. In my free time, I like running, travelling, and keeping up with new research in psychology and education.
I’m an experienced tutor with over 10 years of success helping students of all ages, ranging from children to adults, excel in their studies. While I’m confident across core academic subjects, my expertise lies in psychology, English language, and linguistics. I hold a doctorate in language and psychology and have taught at both college and university levels, including lecturing on psychology modules and language development.
I’ve supported students from GCSE through to PhD level, with many improving by at least two grade boundaries in their target subject. My approach combines essay support, exam preparation, and deep conceptual understanding, with the aim of building not just competence but genuine interest in the subject.
I’ve marked academic work across levels, taught advanced grammar, and worked as a Mandarin tutor for both English and Chinese university students. I also mentor multiple undergraduate and postgraduate students in my current research role. Whether you’re looking to boost grades, sharpen writing skills, or gain confidence in complex material, I tailor my support to meet your needs.
I specialize in psychology, English language, and linguistics, and I’m familiar with a range of exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC. I can support GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate, and postgraduate students across a variety of topics.
In psychology, I cover areas such as cognitive, developmental, social, and biological psychology, as well as research methods and statistics. I also offer support with coursework and dissertation planning.
In English language and linguistics, I help students master grammar, phonetics and phonology, syntax, discourse analysis, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and language change. I have particular expertise in essay writing, argument structure, and analysis for both exams and academic assignments.
My teaching approach is highly individualised. I take time to understand each student’s learning style and tailor my methods accordingly. I aim not just for comprehension, but for that satisfying ‘lightbulb’ moment when a difficult concept finally clicks—and I enjoy building from there into more complex discussions that develop real confidence.
