About Me
Graduating in 2021 I joined Blue Education as their Director of Humanities and Social Sciences. The primary focus of the role was in taking responsibility for the planning and preparation of the 50-80 students normally with us at any one time. I assigned reading, provided advice on A-level work, delivered lessons, advised on personal statements, and instructed students in the theory of mock interviews. Additionally I was responsible for managing the team of tutors that assisted me in delivering the highest quality exprience to the students. Finally I was repsonsible for creating and developing teaching curriculums to help students reach their full potential. The most successful of these was the approach to tutoring the John Locke essay competition, resulting in an 80% shortlist rate in 2024 along with a student of mine winning the Third Prize for Politics.
Tutor Experience
Oxbridge Mock Interviews: I have delivered well over a hundred mock interviews primarily to students applying to study PPE or HSPS.
John Locke Essay Contest: In my capacity as Director I also instructed every student in both the basic practices of essay writing as well as the specific nuances required by the contest.
Politics Enrichment: The classes I took most frequently revolved around improving a student's fluency and understanding of politics. To achieve this I taught classes on everything from Ancient Greek political thought to the Meiji restoration to a breakdown of the 2024 presidential election.
