About Me

I hold a DPhil in English Literature from the University of Oxford, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and a First-Class BA from Oxford. I am currently Assistant Professor in English Studies at SWPS University in Warsaw and a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London.

My lessons are rigorous but encouraging. I emphasise close reading, clear written expression, and strong exam technique, always tailoring sessions to the needs of the individual student. I am available for remote tutorials worldwide, and for in-person teaching in London from Friday to Monday each week.

Tutor Experience

Over the past decade I have built a wide-ranging teaching portfolio. My early work with British Education Ltd in Beijing (2016–2021) centred on preparing pupils for 11+ and 13+ entrance, with many progressing to highly competitive schools including Harrow, Radley, Sevenoaks, Wycombe Abbey, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, and Dulwich College. From 2019 to 2022 I tutored online with Oros Education, teaching ISEB, IELTS, IGCSE and A-level English, and between 2020 and the present I have worked with Scientia Academy and Jet-Match Education to coach students for essay competitions such as the John Locke Institute and the Harvard International Review, where a number have been shortlisted, commended, and advanced to Defence Day.

My university-level teaching has included courses in postcolonial and Caribbean literature for visiting Harvard and Columbia students at Oxford (2021–2023), as well as English for Academic Purposes at Southampton (2022). I continue to provide tuition through Blue Education, focusing on IGCSE and A-level English, literary analysis, and Oxbridge preparation. This breadth of work has allowed me to develop expertise across school entrance, exam preparation, essay writing, and university admissions, with a record of guiding students to strong outcomes at each stage.
