About Me
I am an experienced KS3, GCSE and A-level teacher and sixth form tutor. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE and A-level history, specialising in early modern Britain and modern Europe. I am also an experienced teacher of A-level law and A-level religious studies, alongside other humanities subjects at KS3. As a sixth form tutor, I have supported hundreds of students through the UCAS process of university applications. I have provided one-to-one support for students applying to arts and humanities courses at Oxford and Cambridge, including support with personal statements, wider reading support and preparation for interviews. I have also supported students for university entrance exams including the TSA, HAT and HAA.
Tutor Experience
I taught in a large comprehensive school and sixth form college in the UK for ten years. As well as classroom teaching, I have served as Head of History, Head of Humanities and as a senior leader.
I have now been tutoring online full-time for a year.

Topic Expertise
The main focus of my teaching has been in history, law and religious studies. I have taught A-level history for two different AQA specifications, teaching units of study on Stuart Britain, Tudor England, interwar Germany and Russia under the Tsars and Communists. I have also supervised independent enquiries for A-level history on a range of subjects and tutored students studying a wide range of other topics. I have taught the history of international relations to GCSE level. I have also examined for a range of exam boards.
Alongside history teaching, I have taught the full specification for A-level law, including the legal system, criminal law, tort law and contract law. I have taught Christianity and the philosophy of religion for A-level religious studies.
As a sixth form tutor, I have coordinated student applications to Oxford and Cambridge, including leading residential visits to open days, supervising students writing personal statements, preparing students for interviews, conducting mock interviews and preparing students for admissions assessments.
