About Me

Teaching is a noble profession based on the valuable sharing of knowledge instead of
confinement. At school times, I was always eager to share ideas with my class mates. I still
remember when my Mathematics teacher in 10 th standards called me on blackboard to solve and
explain an algebraic problem. It was exciting to explain the mathematical problem to my class
fellows and answering their innocent queries about the solution steps. I have always been eager
to take assignments involving class presentation during college and university studies. I opted to
be a university lecturer in Chemical Engineering after graduation in January 2005 at the
University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. I, also, taught the
undergraduate Chemical Engineering students at the Imperial College London and the London
Southbank University, UK. During the past ten years, I have improved my teaching skills,
learned new methodologies, excelled in the research and creativity. My teaching philosophy is
based on the outcome base education (OBE) instead of the conventional methodologies.
During my PhD at Imperial College London, I demonstrated Heat Transfer and Basic Chemical
Engineering Laboratory Practice to first year and second year Chemical Engineering Students.
This has been a great experience because the demonstrator has to explain the student basic
procedure and then guide them for some innovative experiments. I also tutored Process
Dynamics and Control to a group of five students in different years. I taught Engineering
Mathematics to undergraduate foundation and Process Simulation to third year students at the
London Southbank University (LSBU), UK as a visiting teacher. In contrast to Imperial College
students, the LSBU students were the ones who returned for studies after some years, therefore,
it has been a different experience.
