I graduated last year in Medical Sciences from Oxford, and now I'm excited to start my MSc in Health Data Analytics & Machine Learning at Imperial College London in Autumn 2024! Afterwards, I'm hoping to pursue a PhD at the interface of medical sciences and machine learning.
I initially applied to study Medicine at Oxford, but in my final undergraduate year decided to change career paths due to my desire to continue studying in another fascinating field.
Getting into Oxford was always an important ambition of mine, and I remember the intensity of preparing for the admissions tests (UCAT, BMAT), interviews, and balancing my A-Level studies all at the same time.
A Levels and university applications are such a crucial time in students' lives, and through my lessons I aim to guide students through this process, both by sharing my subject knowledge and drawing on my successful experience of going through the same process.
TEACHING
I've spent the last academic year teaching at Ashbourne College, a top Independent Sixth Form College in London. Here, I've been teaching A-Level and GCSE Maths, Chemistry and Biology to groups and individual students. I've also been co-running the college's medical school programme, where I've been giving informational talks to students and personally assisting them with their medical school applications.
TUTORING
I'm also an experienced tutor, with over 2 years of experience in subject-specific and university admissions tuition. I tutor students A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry, as well as GCSE Maths and Science. I've tutored many students for medicine admissions, including tuition for UCAT and BMAT, personal statement guidance and interview preparation, with a track record of successfully placing students, including internationals, into UK medical schools.
APPROACH
I tailor my lessons individually for each student. First of all, I like to get to know my students and figure out how they think. Through interacting and engaging with my students, I learn their strengths and also their weaknesses. This way, I can tailor my lessons uniquely to my students to maximise the output of our lessons together. While I believe in the great value of knowledge, I never understate the value of focused preparation and exam technique. Exams, in many cases, are the sole way in which students demonstrate their depth of understanding. I try to impart this feeling on my students so that they can make the most of their hard work and effort. In a nutshell, through my lessons I strive for true understanding, but also results.
