I am friendly and down-to-earth and I really enjoy my job. I am married with two children and I teach part-time in a Sixth Form college alongside tutoring students one-to-one online. When I'm not working, I enjoy seafront walks and curling up with a good book!
I have taught A Level History for sixteen years in a sixth form college as well as supporting students successfully with Oxbridge applications. I am dedicated to helping young people reach their potential and I have a great deal of experience in working one-to-one with students . I always aim to make my tutorials enjoyable and supportive, whilst encouraging great progress with university applications, coursework and exam preparation. I work closely with university admission tutors. I am very experienced in helping students prepare personal statements and applications, as well as in providing mock interviews. I have extensive experience in preparing students for the Oxford HAT and TSA and the Cambridge HAA.
I have a degree in Modern History and I am a qualified teacher.
I have taught A Level papers on The Crusades, Norman Conquest, The Witchcraze, the English Civil War, Russia, China, The Cold War, Nazi Germany and British parliamentary history.
I also moderate A Level History coursework and I am an examiner for Edexcel. This gives me an excellent insight into how to best prepare students to do well in the A Level papers.
I also teach a portfolio course to assist students with university applications in Humanities subjects, particularly for Oxbridge.
Really helpful mock interview - introduced ideas and questions I had not considered which will be helpful in my preparation over the next week. Also established areas for improvement.
Natalya helped me greatly in my journey when retaking History A level. She boosted my confidence in essay writing by going through my essays in detail, something I had never had. Natalya is the best and knows exactly how to help her students to ensure they improve. Whilst I was unable to take the History exam due to the COVID19 mergency situation, I enjoyed every session that I had with Natalya and she has provided me with confidence in my essay writing in History as well as in general which I will be able to use in the future.
I would definitely recommend Natalya for helping with A level History (Karen, April 2020)

'Just wanted to let you know that I got into Oxford! Mansfield here I come! So, so excited!!
But more so, I want to say a MASSIVE thank you for everything you’ve done over the last two years. I am so grateful for your engaging, effective teaching but more than anything I want to thank you for just being a super nice person, for lack of a better adjective! I always felt that you’d be someone I could talk to should I need to, so thank you.
All of the work you put into teaching doesn’t go unnoticed. I feel so lucky to have had you as a teacher' Anabel (2019)
'Just wanted to express my sincere thanks to you and all the amazing staff for your amazing expertise and support in getting Joe through his two years of A-level studies – he has had a great time whilst at the same time he has become more independent and focused. Finally I would like to mention his History teacher who has been wonderful and he will be forever in her debt for inspiring him to even greater levels of academic interest in a subject he loves.'
