MY TEACHING STYLE
I have a flexible teaching style and can cover a range of subjects. Contact me if you have any questions or to book a free trial lesson. I can help you to complete project work, prepare for exams, or improve your understanding of course materials. I will help you to build your confidence and understanding by going at your pace and moving forward in a methodical way. This includes setting clear targets, recapping previous lessons and breaking down difficult topics into understandable chunks.
FREE TRIAL LESSON
I can offer you a free 30 minute lesson so that I can introduce myself and you can tell me about your work. We can also use this time to plan future lessons.
AVAILABILITY
I am available most days of the week in the morning, afternoon and evening. My schedule changes regularly so please contact me with your inquiry. If you can arrange lessons further in advance then I can offer more flexibility. I can also give you a discounted price when booking multiple lessons in advance.
PRICES & DISCOUNTS
My prices are per hour. The price will depend on the subject and level. I can give a discount for long-term bookings and advanced bookings, or if you need several intensive lessons over a short-period of time.
ON SPIRES - I am new to the Spires platform, so I have lowered my prices. I understand that I have a low "score" to begin with, so I look forward to earning some good reviews from new students. I am giving extra discounts for students who want at least 10 hours of lessons (this is to help improve my Spires "score").
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS – Send me a message. I am usually quick to respond :)
I have taught undergraduate students at Coventry University (UK) including seminars and computer labs on research methods and data analysis. As part of this job I marked academic coursework and helped students to prepare for exams. I have also taught undergrads, postgrads, PhD students and researchers as a private tutor.
I’ve delivered training to professional teams in the workplace, mostly in the use of various software packages. I have also taught groups of children and young adults in private schools and developed my own lesson plans and teaching materials.
In total, I have more than 2000+ hours of group teaching experience, and I have tutored around 200 one-to-one students and adult learners, both online and in person.
I am happy to answer any questions about my experience and the subjects I teach. Please get in touch to find out if I am the right tutor for you :)
TEACHING SUBJECTS
I teach quantitative/qualitative research methods, data analysis, psychology (including clinical & forensic), AS/A-Level Psychology & Biology, report writing, literature reviewing, data visualization, social sciences, and design subjects (including graphic, product & interactive). I can help you to improve your skills and knowledge in any of these subject areas, and can help you to revise and prepare for exams.
I can work with you to complete coursework, dissertations or professional projects. I also provide proofreading and constructive feedback to help improve your work.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
I have a Master’s degree in Research Methods and have taught this subject at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including with PhD students and professionals. I have worked as a researcher on several academic projects at UK universities. I worked as a policy researcher for multiple local councils and the UK Department for Education. In these jobs I have used quantitative and qualitative methods to understand topics related to education, healthcare, mental health, forensic and clinical psychology.
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
In addition to teaching, I have worked in private and NHS mental healthcare roles, including in clinical and forensic psychology. I have worked closely with people diagnosed with psychosis, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, ASD and learning disabilities.
I have led therapy groups and worked as a one-to-one therapist focusing on addictive behaviors and criminal offending. I’ve conducted research in clinical and non-clinical settings, as well as via online platforms. I’ve conducted semi-structured interviews, facilitated focus groups, designed and collected surveys, recruited research participants, completed ethical applications and worked across various multi-disciplinary teams.
