I have over a decade of teaching experience in various educational settings and have developed a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and the importance of individualised attention. My experience thus far has shown me the transformative power of tailored instruction. In my classroom, I have always strived to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Tutoring allows me to extend this in a 1:1 setting and focus even more closely on individual needs, strengths and areas for improvement. In my spare time, I practice yoga, read, cook and play the piano. I am also part of a creating writing group and enjoy writing my own short stories.
I am a qualified primary teacher with experience across the age range. I am also familiar with the National Curriculum, IB PYP programme and the Cambridge English framework.
I began my career in a large primary school in Coventry, where I taught Year 3, 4 and 5. In this role, I gained a strong understanding of the National Curriculum. I gained significant experience supporting students with additional needs such as Autism and ADHD. I then taught at an international school in Mexico City, using the IB PYP programme and Cambridge English curriculum. In this role, I successfully taught primary aged children for whom English was an additional language. I developed their English skills alongside their curriculum knowledge through the use of active learning, play and technology. When returning to the UK, I taught in an inner London primary school, supporting Year 6 pupils. Here I gained extensive knowledge of SATs examinations, preparing children for their examinations. I ran before and after school group tutoring sessions where I planned targeted sessions aimed at closing gaps. More recently, I have worked in a unique alternative provision supporting children who have been excluded from their mainstream schools. In this role, I’ve demonstrated a strong understanding of additional needs and mental health, and learnt how to make learning engaging for reluctant learners. I now work as a supply teacher across North London, working in various primary schools from EYFS up to KS2.
