About Me
Hi my name is Sarah and I am from Ireland but I have been living in Thailand for the past 8 years.
Having achieved an honous BA in my Undergraduate course, I studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Since then, I have been teaching for the last 18 years and have taught children aged 4-12 both in Ireland and Thailand. I am very familiar with both the British and Irish Primary School Curriculums.
I enjoy travelling and have visited 48 countries so far. I love experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. As well as, English, I speak Irish, Spanish and I am learning Thai. In my spare time I enjoy working out at the gym, scuba diving, doing yoga and exploring nature. Thailand is the perfect base to enjoy these activities!
Tutor Experience
I began my teaching career in Dublin, Ireland and spent 10 years working in a Junior School teaching the Irish Primary School Curriculum to children aged 4-8 years old. During this time, I also did private maths tutoring classes with children who were struggling with Maths and Literacy. I am passionate about drama and acting and was the director for the school's productions during this time.
In 2015, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand and began my International School teaching career teaching the British School Curriculum to KS2 children aged between 7-12 years old. During my time here I also ran the school's productions and provided private tutoring to children in ESL, Maths and Literacy.
In 2022, I moved to Koh Samui, Thailand where I taught KS1 British School Curriculum to Year 1 students and was the KS1 Coordinator for the School and the Phonics Lead. I also provided private learning support tutoring as well as ESL and maths and phonics.
I am a reflective, enthusiastic and focused teacher who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the education and well-being of children and young people. I am passionate about giving young children the best possible education in life and therefore I recognise the importance of tailoring my teaching to individuals, the need for regular and thorough assessment but most importantly, I recognise the importance of sparking children’s interests and curiosity and fostering their passion for learning. I pride myself in my ability to establish a supportive relationship with not only the children that I teach but also their parents with the aim of promoting and reinforcing a child’s independence and self-esteem.
