About Me
I have always been very interested in the creative process. Out of that interest I firstly studied fine art not knowing that it would be the beginning of a long and successful journey leading me to the solid study of visual art and culture. I still enjoy making my own artwork, but I have become an expert in theory and history of visual culture. I finished my doctoral studies in 2009, and since then I have been a researcher and lecturer working daily with students of different levels and abilities, helping them in their academic success and personal development.
Tutor Experience
I am new to Spires, but have worked without interruptions for over 15 years in HE and FE, both in the UK and abroad. Subjects taught include Critical Studies, Art History and Theory, Philosophy, and Visual Culture. At FE and HE level I have supervised and tutored BA, MA and HND students, helping them to complete particular assignments and dissertations. Privately, I have also supervised PhD students. As a lecturer I have marked many exam papers, essays and dissertations. This experience gives me a very good understanding of the assessment process. Additionally, I tutored students privately, overseeing their progress towards achieving a concrete academic goal. My tutoring approach focuses on the academic and personal development of the student with the view to accomplishing a specific target, be it a grade improvement or the completion of a particular assignment, but also as a way of acquiring valuable skills. I am a very experienced educationalist who has helped students from many different backgrounds and academic areas, from psychology to critical thinking.
I can help students in essay and dissertation writing, exam preparation and working towards independent study.
